Overhaul mod for FTL

FTL: Multiverse is a content expansion mod for the space simulation game, Faster Than Light. This utility game adds more than a hundred new enemies, weapons, and drones to the vanilla game. It also expands the lore of the game by adding new factions, sectors, and races. But what makes the mod special is the fact that it is the first –and currently one of the two—overhauls that use FTL: Hyperspace, a brand-new coded modding API for FTL.

Hard-coded overhaul mod

FTL: Multiverse is an expansion mod that competes with the likes of the ARS+ and Captains Edition. As noted, this modification uses Hyperspace as its modding API. Compared to traditional Faster Than Light modding, Hyperspace greatly expands what modders can do. It allows for modders to add new alien races, infinite player ships,  new functional augments, and more to the game. Multiverse brings over 500 new alien enemies, 73 new player ships, and more than 100 new weapons. Not only that, but you can also make use of over 80 drones

Unlike other overhauls, FTL: Multiverse expands more on the lore and the immersive world, rather than pure content. The new enemy and player ships are also drawn from scratch and with minimal splices to match the art style to the vanilla game as possible. Furthermore, it adds some mechanics used in other mods, including socialization and combat augments. The combat augments in this mod work every time, and their effects are more practical in combat.

Multiverse provides a more alive and in-depth experience. Not only does it adds more sectors in general, but it also has a lot of interesting events, quests, and choices that players need to make. However, you should note that the mod still has a few quirks that may affect the game experience. There are some bug issues, lack of gibs, and a fair amount of typos. If you happen to encounter such issues, the devs are easy to reach, and they take care of reported bugs quickly.

Bring something new to your game

Overall, FTL: Multiverse is a recommended modification for those who are looking for something fresh to their vanilla game. The program makes the game more alive with all the expansions it provides. There are still a few issues that you may encounter, but it won’t affect much of your gaming experience.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
